THE CHARACTER FULL NAME: Schuyler "Sky" Tate SERIES/FANDOM: Power Rangers. AGE: 20 GENDER: Male SPECIES: Human SEXUALITY: Asexual ALIGNMENT: Good PERSONALITY: Sky's a dick plain and simple. He what people think and he doesn't care about their feelings, and is a firm believer in playing it straight and doing everything by the book. There's a reason why the rules exist and any deviation could be bad and lead to chaos. Okay, so maybe that's an extreme, but he really does believe in following the SPD manual to a T. He is also a firm believer in everyone doing everything to their best ability. He doesn't want to waste time on someone who's doing something half-assed or isn't taking this job seriously. Being a Ranger? Is serious business and people should respect the office. He's all about keeping things tidy and regulation. This doesn't mean Sky doesn't know how to have fun, but the expectation he has of himself keep him very rigid.
He has an attitude problem. He's aware of this. He's working on it, but sometimes he can't help it. He can't excuse stupid. It's just not in him. Still, being on the team he's on has taught him a lot about patience, tolerance, and what it means to be part of a team. Doesn't mean his patience doesn't wear thin, though. ABILITIES: Sky has the ability to create forcefields that allow him to protect himself from projectiles.
HISTORY: Schuyler "Sky" Tate is the son of an S.P.D. legend. His father helped create the Delta Morphers and due to this his DNA was altered, passing on a special ability to create force-fields to Sky. When Sky was around 5 or 6, his father had distinguished himself as a great Power Ranger. One day, the senior Tate fought an intense battle, saving dozens of people, but lost his life to a criminal named Mirloc. Mirloc was later contained and sent to a special prison facility. The helmet belonging to Sky's dad was found and given to Sky after his father died. This fueled Sky's decision to become an SPD officer and a Ranger. There was so much evil in the world and his father dedicated his life to protecting it - and so would Sky.
By 2025, at the age of 20, Sky distinguished himself as one of S.P.D. Earth's finest cadets. He was on the B-Squad, along with Bridge Carson and Sydney Drew. Suddenly, the earth was vulnerable when the A-Squad went missing. Planning for the possible invasion of Emporer Grumm, Anubis Cruger, the S.P.D. Earth commander, granted the B-Squad Ranger Status. Sky was made the S.P.D. Blue Ranger and second-in-command.
This did not sit well with Sky. He was determined to be SPD Red Ranger - to fill his father's shoes. It was his destiny! But Sky's stubbornness and inability to rely on others displeased Cruger and so he offered the criminal Robin Hood by the name of Jack the position. This did not please Sky either and made it a point to undermine Jack's authority at every turn, but even Sky realized that to function as a team and to do what needed to be done (and to make his father proud), he would have to suck it up and learn to follow. Sky and Jack got into many arguments about what the teams should have done in battle, but as they grew closer as a team, they learned to work together and Sky grew to accept Jack's position as Red Ranger. Then one day he's he's talking to Cruger about becoming SPD Red and suddenly finds himself somewhere in the past, a new city, and very much NOT the red Ranger. >.> Yes. He's a bit bitter.
WAS THIS CHARACTER HELD FOR YOU?: Yes.
FIRST-PERSON JOURNAL SAMPLE: You know. I just can't seem to win. The universe? Conspires against me. I just. I don't understand. I was thisclose and suddenly I'm SUCKED away. And what do I find? Bridge. Of all people. And! To top it off! He's got the red SPD morpher. I just can't win!
THIRD-PERSON RPG SAMPLE: Everything here was so primitive. He frowned, staring at some of the awful clothing, and shook his head. There was definitely nothing respectable in this heap. Lucky for Sky, he was classic in his style: jeans, a pair of slacks, solid blue shirt, and that was all he needed. Syd would die.
The thought made him grin.
Still, the people were...okay. They didn't grate on his nerves, which was good. He blinked. W-was that butter? On his sheets? "Bridge!" He shouted, turning back on his heel, marching straight for the ex-green-turned-red SPD ranger.
